J. EDWARD NORRIS has been president of Ferrous Solutions, Inc., since founding the company in 1996.

Ed's career in the steel industry began in Canton, Ohio, with the Timken Company in 1972. Over the years he worked his way up from an entry-level position, as a cold scarf helper, to management level positions. From 1988 to 1995 he was an operations scrap analyst.

Ed applied his knowledge of scrap operations to launch his own company in 1996. Ferrous Solutions was formed to supply customers with custom-blended scrap materials. The company's ability to supply superior materials at lower costs led to rapid growth, and the introduction of the Alchemist Scrap Management System™ in late 1998 continues that pattern.

Ed is a member of the Association of Iron and Steel Engineers, the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries and the Cleveland Regional Minority Purchasing Council. He lives with his wife Gay in Massillon, Ohio.
